Committees

JOIN A COMMITTEE

Here is a list of the PASR/LC Committees. Being part of a committee helps you meet new people and allows you to have an impact.

Auditing Committee

The Auditing Committee shall independently review and audit the reports of the treasurer each year and submit a report of the committee’s findings to the Executive Committee and to the members in attendance at the fall general membership meeting.

Community Service Committee

Identifies and promotes activities of volunteer services by the Chapter and its individual members for the benefit of the local communities

Educational Support Committee

Monitors, encourages contributions, and provides for the annual distribution of the Scholarship Fund. An Educational Support Grant is given annually to support public education in a county school district. Selects a teacher and a support staff member to receive the Lauretta Woodson Award from a county school district.

Legislative/Political Education Committee (L-PEC)

Informs the members of state and national legislative issues and organizes members of the Chapter in support of PASR’s legislative programs.

Membership Committee

Identifies and encourages retired school employees, their spouses, and other interested individuals to enroll as active or associate members of both the Chapter and the PASR.

Social Service Memorial Honor Fund (SSMHF) Committee

Encourages contributions to the PASR Memorial Honor Fund in memory of or in honor of members of the Chapter. Establishes programs providing assistance, visitations, and/or gifts to members who are confined to their homes, hospitals or nursing homes.

Travel/Recreo Committee

Plans and conducts travel programs that will be of interest to members.
