Cambria County Chapter
The Cambria County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees (PASR) was established in 1974. We will be celebrating our fifty-year anniversary this year. The first president of the organization was Helen Falatic.

We encourage any school retiree to consider joining our chapter. If you are a school retiree collecting from the Pennsylvania Public School Employee Retirement System, you may join our chapter as a member and the State PASR. If you are interested in any of our functions and you are not a member of PSERS, you may join our chapter as an associate member. The annual dues for our group are ten dollars a year starting in July of the calendar year.

During the calendar year, our chapter has two general meetings in May and October. These meeting share two different functions. The major reason for the meetings is to take care of any business needing to be done for the chapter. Reports from the officers and heads of the committees are given at that time. The spring meeting is very important because at that time the chapter will decide on the various awards that will be given to individuals at the fall general meeting. Before and after the meeting social time is provided to allow our members to catch-up with other members. At the end of each meeting, we also have a luncheon as a social event.

In the summer, our annual picnic occurs in July. This a very informal get together at a local park. The attendees enjoy a picnic meal from a local cater. This is a great time to socialize with the members of our association and their guests.

Each year the Chapter celebrates with two annual parties. We celebrate Saint Patrick's Day in March. At this celebration we sing Irish ditties and have a great social time. The second party is our annual Christmas Party. Christmas Carols are quietly played in the background while we eat and socialize with our member. We also dispense our annual Christmas Gifts to our members who are unable to attend the meetings. Second, we wind up our community service project by sending out donations to the various food pantries that service our schools' community.
